K (3yo)

During K's Mom and Dad's engagement session I couldn't help but get a few of her and her curls.  What a cutie and just as sweet.

Tim & Kassie

After several reschedules we finally were able to do the engagement session.  Of course, it turned out to be probably the windiest day of the year.  Despite the wind the session was great.  I look forward to their August wedding!

Miller Family

After 15 years the Miller family need an updated family photos.  I had a blast catching up with Casey from High School and meeting her family.

Q Senior

Quentin is a nice, quiet boy who isn't up for pictures but did great during his senior session.  Below are a few of my favorites from his session.

Fontez Maternity

It seems like just a few months ago I was doing Tamar's maternity session with little Ryder.  My how time flies!  I loved seeing the change in their lives and can't hardly wait for the arrival of little Crew.  He will be the second newborn session in the new in home studio but the first with the new studio flooring.  Stay tuned!

I couldn't help but edit this image extra dreamy.  I love the added haze.

Fenton Maternity

I went to school with Casey and had the privilege to capture a very special time in her life.  They were incredibly sweet and so full of happiness.  Their smiles and happiness were infectious.  Duke, their dog came along for a few pictures himself and was such a poser haha!  Below are a few of my favorites from the session.

 Even their dog smiles :)

S is for Savannah

I had the honor of spending time with the beautiful little Savannah.  Her session was the first in my new in home studio.  The flooring wasn't finished before her session and all the kinks aren't worked out yet abut so far I'm in love with the space and ability to do newborn and child studio sessions.
Below are a few of my favorites.  You can see the rest of my work on Facebook by looking up Foxtreephotography Amber Middleton.  Please "like" the page when you visit!

remember when weeds were flowers?

I realized today that I felt I didn't have anything to learn from a child.  How wrong was I!!  Remember when weeds were flowers?  We saw the beauty in everything.  We didn't get hung up on what was wrong, only the good in all things.  God is so faithful to teach us lessons in even the smallest situations.  I look at myself and all my mistakes as a weed but God sees me as a beautiful flower.  He sees us all as a flower.  I want to shine for Jesus!  I want to show his love, light and life to all those around me whether I view them as a weed or a a flower.  I want to get to the place where I can look through his eyes and see flowers everywhere.

*Sidenote*
I read a post from a fellow photographer yesterday.  She brought to light how most of us photographer's struggle with making the "perfect" image.  We take out little blimishes, straighten things here and fix things there.  Life isn't perfect so in these images I left Jude exactly how he is allergy induced eczema and all :)

tick tock

Due to recent changes in our lives I'm more aware of just how quickly time flies by.  If you're anything like us (my husband and I) we often share stories of our childhood and how much those little things meant to us and shaped who we are now.  It's too easy to get caught up in daily life.  There are grocery runs, bills to pay, jobs to do and what seems to be an endless amount of laundry.  A few weeks ago I looked at Jude and had a moment of pure panic.  He only just turned three but all of a sudden I felt as if his childhood was nearly gone.  It won't be long until he goes to school and this special time I've had home with him the past three years will be gone.  After he starts school I won't have those days of just Jude and I.  His first year I was awesome at taking pictures of every little thing.  At a few months old Foxtree was born and has steadily grown with each passing month and year.  With those months and years I slacked on taking pictures of Jude and my stepson Benjamin.  I want to remember those memories and I want to leave those memories in the form of something they can hold in their hand no matter their age.  The sharpness of most memories gradually fade.  We don't remember what their voice sounded like or that one silly face they made to make us laugh.  I am determined to start capturing those memories again even if they're the little things we wouldn't deem "important".  You never know what memory will shape your child.  Love them, hold them and tell them you love them.  Make memories and capture those memories whether it be by me or another professional photographer or you with your camera at home.  The clock doesn't stop.  Tick.tock.  This is my professional blog but since Foxtree is me I'll be adding pictures of my life with my boys.

These photos are from today during Jude and I's walk around the neighborhood soaking in the pretty flowers (and weeds).
