Magnolia Jane update

Magnolia Jane has officially launched.  I underestimated how long it would take to get everything online in addition to sewing and running after an almost three year old so the products will gradually be uploaded to Facebook over the next few days.  I also have an etsy store though for the moment there is only one headband available.  There are four ways to see and get information about Magnolia Jane.

1. Email (magnolia.jane@aol.com)
2. Facebook (Magnolia Jane)
3. The blog (www.magnolia-jane.blogspot.com)
4. The Etsy shop (http://www.etsy.com/shop/MagnoliaJaneBoutique)

Thank you so much and talk to you soon!  There are newborn babies on the Foxtree calendar. :)

Magnolia Jane (coming soon!!)

Hello Foxtree friends :)  The news I am about to share has been in the works for a long, long time.  It took a little shove of encouragement to get me there and now that I am standing where I am, I am beyond thrilled!  I am so happy and excited to announce that over the weekend I will be launching a side project/business.  I was going to wait until the Spring to launch but my inventory is growing speedily and my impatience has grown even faster!  This new business will work hand in hand with Foxtree to take it to a new level I have been wanting to reach since the start of Foxtree.  It will also work independently of Foxtree though.  I will have a shop set up on Etsy.com in addition to a separate Facebook business page that will double as a sort of shop.  Enough build up! ;)

The new business is a children's boutique with an abundance of unique, vintage chic inspired, one of a kind  dresses, skirts and hair accessories.  Eventually I plan to branch out into little boy's attire but for the moment I am concentrating on little girl's clothing and hair accessories only.

Please show support for Magnolia Jane by "liking" the Facebook page.  You can find it by searching for Magnolia Jane.  My Etsy store is not yet open but will be by the end of the weekend.  I will make a post then giving out that information.  Until then you can find me on Facebook, email and the blog.

Not one to disappoint I will give a tiny sneak peek of what you will be seeing.  This item was one of the first sparks of Magnolia Jane.  I can't wait to show you the amazing dresses and skirts with their matching headbands of course!  You will NOT want to miss what is to come!!  Talk to you soon :)

Snow White

About two weeks ago I started planning in intricate detail the Snow White session that would be round two with the origami but this time it was improved.  What I didn't plan for was the wind.  It never fails..haha!  We hung all 104 ribbon strung origami swams.  In the last few minutes of hanging the wind started.  It was relentless.  The session took place at a tree on the top of a small hill.  The wind kept whipping up the sides making the set up I had near the birds unusable.  While that part of the session was a bit of fail I kept al the birds and now after two trials I know exactly how to make this work.  I did proceed with the session even though the birds didn't work how I had hoped and planned.
There were several props used but you won't see them all in the pictures due to the original set up with the birds not working out.  Below are a list of props you will see in the pictures

Props used

One fake apple
Three real apples
A bakset with red fabric
104 origami birds hanging from the tree by red ribbons
10 small origami birds hanging by red ribbon inside a bird cage

Outfit
Dress (made by me)
Cape (made by me)
Headband (made by me)
Yellow tights from Target
Black flats already owned by the model

Here are a few of my favorites.  If you would like to view the images in full size, click the image.

T (Senior)

I met with T over her Christmas break to do the first of her senior sessions.  I had a specific plan for the session involving origami.  Unfortunately it was the first trial and error.  We worked on the fly and recovered nicely.  The overall goal was for a classic chic look with little pops of colors.  Below are some of my favorites.  Click to view the images in full size.

Thank you to Taylor for being such a good sport!  I look forward to your Senior snow session and for your session in the Spring. :)

Ed & Judith (wedding)

I met Ed & Judith through their wedding planner/florist who is a friend of mine.  This couple's story is so sweet and special!  They married at the Market Street Inn in downtown Jeffersonville. Below are just a few from their day.

This cake topper was the topper used by Judith's parents in 1936.

This entire wedding was very steeped in symbolism.  So many little details were placed to honor, remember and include those close to their hearts and those that through death were not able to be there.  There was a story behind almost everything in this day.  It was beautiful!
Thank you again to Ed and Judith.  It was a pleasure to meet you and be apart of your special day!

Brian & Holly (wedding)

I have known Holly for many, many years.  Only in the past few years did I get a chance to meet a deeper side of her.  She's a very sweet, compassionate lady that very much so deserved to find her Prince Charming.
I met with Holly a Friday evening in mid December for her bridal session.  The next day was their wedding at Mansions Row Inn in New Albany, IN. Here are just a few.

Thank you again to Brian and Holly for using Foxtree for their wedding :)
